12 new projects – thanks to SSEN

Growing2gether has won generous funding from SSEN, allowing regional expansion into Tain, Alness and Inverness Merkinch.

We are delighted to announce that Growing2gether has received generous funding of over £55,000 from SSEN Transmission’s Regional Community Benefit Fund.

This funding will help us transform the lives of young teens living in deprived Highland areas of Alness, Tain and Inverness Merkinch.

'The projects we have been able to fund won through against stiff competition,' said a SSEN spokeperson. 'All are designed to make a real difference to people, places, and cultural life in the north.'

With this funding, Growing2gether will deliver six Growing2gether Nursery projects, reaching 48 young people mentoring 48 children. The young people will also have the opportunity to create and deliver six youth-led Growing2gether Youth Social Action projects to improve their communities. Through partnerships, we will also coach them to connect to other opportunities to develop their mental health and skills. 

'We will build their mental health, life skills and engagement, developing community ambassadors who can give back not only to their communities, but to other communities and young people across the north of Scotland,' said Gavin Morgan, Co-CEO of Growing2gether.
